Norwegian’s Air Shuttle AS is an independent, privately-owned low-cost airline. The company’s headquarters are located at Fornebu, just outside of Oslo. In September 2002 Norwegian launched a program of low-cost domestic flights between Oslo and Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø using a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. On April 5th, 2002 they initiated low-cost flights to destinations in Spain and Portugal. During the summer of 2003, the network was expanded with flights to the Norwegian cities Alta, Harstad/Narvik, Bodø, Molde, Ålesund, and international routes to London Stansted and Stockholm.
